Lines of Thoughts: Charcoal Works by Elsa Chesnel

Elsa Chesnel is seduced by charcoal and the expression of feelings through contrast. She loses herself in shapes and volumes, refining and discovering meaning through lines as she explores her thoughts. In Chesnel’s eyes, she has succeeded when what is formed through her hands and fingers triggers emotions in the viewer—when the work acquires a life of its own.
